<p>P.S.  I can tell you from my own first-hand experience, which I document in &#8220;Fit Over 40&#8243;, that my personal 10-year-journey through the muck of obesity was ANYTHING but happy.</p>
<p>I was depressed, to the point of suicide at times (thankfully I never went that far.) I was socially hidden. I wore &#8220;fat-clothes&#8221; all the time. The few times I HAD to wear jeans or dress pants I rushed home to change into sweats because they were just too damn uncomfortable to tolerate.</p>
<p>Bottom line:  I was &#8220;fat-n-miserable&#8221;. </p>
<p>I think most people who are overweight or obese feel more despair, sadness, or perhaps just really frustrated than &#8220;happy&#8221;. <p> Although S. A. D. sufferers have more intense symptoms, many of us undergo some change in mood during the winter months. We may feel laziness and an increased need for sleep. The cold makes us want to stay inside our houses. We want to eat warm, starchy, creamy foods that are more fattening than the fruits we might crave in the summertime.</p>
<p> These factors combine and often cause people to feel a slight depression. They feel more isolated, and feel stuck in a rut. For this reason, it is helpful to find activities that will pull you out of your rut. Here are a few ways to fight winter depression.</p>

<p>When you feel like you are offended or irritated by someone or a situation, one trick that will do you well is to take a long and deep breath. These are three questions that I would have certainly answered yes to a couple of years ago. I have however managed to turn my life around; the depression has been eradicated once and for all; I am free at last to live my life in the way that I have always wanted to.</p>
<p>Before I continue I would like to make it clear that I am by no way attempting to sell you anything here and that I am not some sort of depression therapist. <p> The cause of my personal depression</p>
<p> I have to say that the main cause of my depression was due to the fact that I had a stutter. This speech impediment basically ruined my life for eighteen years and was something that would often leave me feeling quite sorry for myself.</p>
<p> I feared for my overall future. How would I be able to get on in the world with this frustrating stutter? I was fully aware of just how it would negatively impact on my prospects for employment, relationships with friends and members of the opposite sex and overall confidence/happiness.</p>
<p> The solution</p>
<p> I was very fortunate to meet a very educated man called Jason when I was aged twenty-two. He persuaded me to fight back against all of my demons and gave me the belief that I would be able to overcome the stutter, as well as eradicating the depression.</p>
<p> You need to believe in yourself, you need to understand that there is a lot of people in a worse position than you and you need to be thankful of what you do have rather than solely concentrating on what you do not have, explained Jason.</p>
<p> You should be willing to work extremely hard to improve your life and to beat this depression.</p>
<p> The result</p>
<p> I am pleased to report that after working extremely hard I was able to find a cure for stuttering and was also able to find happiness, the depression and stutter have both been eradicated for once and for all.</p>
