The Best Games To Play In The Swimming Pool
Did you know that a swimming pool is not only enjoyable to swim and relax in? It is also a terrific place where you can have interactive games with your family and friends! Beach balls, some rope, floaters, people, and creativity are all you need to have fun, fun, fun!
Want to try something new, here’s a list of games that you can play next time you have a pool party:
- Wet Sweatshirt Relay Race – Teams should be set up depending on the number of good swimmers and sweatshirts (minimum of 2) that you have available. Use the shallow portion or short length of the swimming pool if kids or weak swimmers want to join. Each team will be given one sweatshirt.~Line up all the team members.~The sweatshirt must be worn by the leader in the line. After the signal ‘GO has been given, the person wearing the sweatshirt needs to swim across the pool and back. The wet sweatshirt needs to be removed then passed to the next team member who also needs to perform the same procedure. Continue the routine until every member of the team has done their part.
- Wrestling Team – Build teams composed of 2 players each. A team member positions on top of his partner’s shoulder. They must keep their distance from the pool ledge. The players sitting at the top of the shoulder will attempt to make the opponent lose their balance. The last team standing is declared as the winner.
- Race That Float – Pump up two floaters. Two teams with a minimum of 4 members each should be assembled. Tell the players to divide themselves accordingly at the opposite ends of the swimming pool. A mixture of adults and kids per team is acceptable; however, the kids should be allowed to go first. Let’s say one team has four members. Two members each will stay on the opposite side of the pool at the start of the race. The first member of the team will need to ride the floater and, using bare hands for paddles, will need to get to where team member B is located who in turn paddles back to team member C. This procedure will continue until it reaches the last member of the team. The fastest team is declared the winner.
- Water Tug – You’ll need a strong rope for this particular game. The rules of this game is similar to the Tug-of-War but the only difference is that everybody who joins the game is required to get in the pool. The pool’s shallow end is quite harmless for the children to have a go at this game too. Always be on alert and make sure that every player is at a safe distance from the pool ledge.
- Fish Talk – Build two teams with as many participants as possible. Instruct the team leaders that the word you have written down and are about to show them should not be said out loud nor passed on unless instructed to do so. The team leaders will need to go underwater where they will tell the next person in line what the word is. The ‘passing of the word underwater will go on until it reaches the last person who’s task is to say the word out loud but above the water.
- Diver’s Breath – At least two players are told to take a deep breath and stay underwater at the same time. The last person to come up for air is declared the victor.
Having fun and being careful, like making sure that none of the pool or spa chemicals are easily accessible, can equate to an impressive pool party.
Cleaning and decontaminating swimming pools, particularly those used by the public, can be really easy with the use of swimming pool and spa chemicals.
After mid day is a good time to be assured that the pool has already been treated with the necessary pool & spa chemicals.
